Department Approvals Initials Originator or Supporter   Mayor / Council     City Manager     Clerk     Treasurer     Community Development  originator   Police Department     Public Works     Golf Course    COST IMPACT: N/A Parks and Recreation    FUNDING SOURCE: N/A Airport      Library    TIMELINE: ASAP Information Systems      Grant Coordinator    SUMMARY STATEMENT: The City of McCall Downtown Parking Study and Needs Assessment Final Report (2009) demonstrates that there is a surplus of public parking within downtown and recommends reducing commercial parking requirements as an approach to promote infill and downtown development. Staff, in an effort to implement this recommendation, has researched parking requirements of like communities and conducted work sessions with the Planning and Zoning Commission to identify an appropriate reduction in commercial parking requirements at this time. Staff views these reductions as an interim step until the upcoming Downtown Master Plan update is complete, at which time additional reductions may be recommended. At the December 4, 2012 meeting, the McCall Area Planning and Zoning Commission held a properly noticed and regularly scheduled public hearing and unanimously recommended the zoning ordinance amendment for approval. The City Attorney has reviewed the attached ordinance. The following documents are included in the agenda packets: 1. Ordinance and Summary 2. P&Z Minutes – excerpt 3. Like community parking comparisons The zoning ordinance amendment will be presented to the Board of County Commissioners for consideration at a later date to be determined.  RECOMMENDED ACTION: 1. Hold the Public Hearing 2. Suspend the rules, read by title only, one time only Ordinance No. ___, amending Title 3. 3.
