SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Council adopted a tentative budget in the amount of $17,046,469 on July 12, 2013.
Council conducted a duly noticed public hearing at the August 8, 2013 Council meeting regarding the tentative FY14 budget.
The budget was updated to reflect the approved Local Option Tax funding, carry forward amounts, and two data entry error that were identified at the Council Work Session on July 12,
2013. Additionally, the budget has been updated to reflect a decreased health insurance premium increase, from an 18% increase to a 5.11% increase, and the 2% market increase has been
removed to allow time for staff to analyze the market study data and prepare an implementation plan for FY15. The recommended foregone amount was decreased to $50,000; the amount necessary
to fund the Capital Improvement Plan after applying the savings from the decreased health insurance premiums and no market increases to the CIP.
The public hearing was left open until August 22, 2013 to receive written comments from the public. As of August 15, 2013 no additional comments were received by staff. Should any
comments be submitted prior to the end of the comment period, August 22, 2013, they will be made available to the Council.
Attached is a draft appropriation ordinance.
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Suspend the rules, read by title only, one time only Ordinance No. ______
Adopt Ordinance No.______ setting the FY14 City of McCall budget appropriation at $16,717,376, and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
