SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Resolution 13-07 reduces the Central Business District parking in-lieu fee from $20,000 per space to $7,500 per space and provides a single point reference for other P&Z related fees
(none of the others are proposed to change).
McCall City Code 3.4.061.B provides an option for development within the Central Business District (CBD) to fulfill off street parking space requirements by contributing an amount specified
by resolution of the council for each required space to the city’s parking lot trust fund. To date, the City has not collected any fees for CBD parking spaces omitted.
The City of McCall Downtown Parking Study & Needs Assessment Final Report (2009) recommends reducing commercial parking requirements as an approach to promote infill and downtown development.
Staff recommends reducing the fee for parking spaces omitted in the CBD from $20,000, which was set to reflect the approximate per-space cost of construction of structured parking,
to $7,500, which approximately reflects the per-space cost of improved surface parking.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution 13-07 and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
