SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Exelis, Inc. has requested approval for installation of a commercial microwave dish as a part of the integration of Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (commonly known as ADS-B)
within the National Airspace System. Exelis, a commercial contractor, has been selected by the FAA for completion of this effort as indicated by the FAA Authorization Letter attached
to this agenda bill. This proposed agreement provides terms for installation of a dish that is 2.6’ in diameter on the exterior roof line of Hangar 101 along with a 4’x4’x2’ equipment
box on the interior wall of the same facility that will receive and transmit information from an ADS-B terminal that has been installed on No Business Lookout (SW of the airport). Proposed
consideration for this agreement includes $100 per annum to cover any additional man hours extended to provide access to the facility outside of normal business hours and $600 for power
usage throughout the year (actual anticipated power usage is $240). The term of this agreement is twelve years and the agreement can be terminated at any time on behalf of the City
through 90-day written notification to Exelis, Inc. This agreement has been reviewed by City Attorney who concurs with proposed language within the attached draft agreement.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the Microwave Site Lease Agreement between the City of McCall and Exelis, Inc. and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
