SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Central Idaho Historical Museum’s (CIHM) twenty-year lease expired at on October 31, 2013. The Parks and Recreation Director has worked extensively with the CIHM Board of Directors
to craft a lease which is amenable to both parties. The new lease is for a term of ten years including an additional ten year renewal option. A direction of the City Council for additional
verbiage to be added to the lease to insure that both parties agree to work in good faith to accommodate the Lessor if, during the term of this lease, Lessor desires to use a portion
of the Property for a purpose (e.g., Parks and Recreation administrative offices) and in a manner that does not interfere with the core activities of the Museum. The Parks and Recreation
Department will continue to provide grounds and irrigation maintenance. The attached Lease has been reviewed by the Museum Board and the City Attorney.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the Central Idaho Historical Museum Lease Renewal for a term of 10 years and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
