HomeMy Public PortalAboutAB 13-40 3rd street Construction Contract award McCALL CITY COUNCIL 216 East Park Street AGENDA BILL McCall, Idaho 83638 Number AB 13-40 Meeting Date February 28, 2013 AGENDA ITEM INFORMATION  SUBJECT: Third Street Corridor Revitalization Project No. ICDBG-12-III-16-ED Sidewalk and Streetscape Improvements, Spring 2013 Department Approvals Initials Originator or Supporter   Mayor / Council     City Manager     Clerk     Treasurer     Community Development     Police Department     Public Works / Originator   Golf Course    COST IMPACT: Up to $700,000 Parks and Recreation    FUNDING SOURCE: Local Option Tax ($50,000); McCall Improvement Committee ($5,000); Idaho Transportation Department (~$35,000); Utility Franchise Fees (~$70,000); FTA Grant ($16,028); Water Department (~$15,000); ICDBG Grant (up to $400,000), Streets Department (TBD) Airport      Library    TIMELINE: Spring and Summer, 2013 Information Systems      Grant Coordinator    SUMMARY STATEMENT: This project is the 2nd Phase of the 3rd Street Corridor Revitalization Project and will include the construction of: Curb, gutter, sidewalk, stormwater, trees, and lights along west side of SH-55 between Colorado and Washington Curb, gutter, sidewalk, stormwater, trees, and lights along west side of SH-55 between Washington Street and Park Street (Mountain Lakes Real Estate) Grading and re-vegetation improvements to Ray Woods property Access control and shared driveway approaches for adjoining property owners Bike lanes and on-street parking Extension of center-turn lane to south of Colorado/3rd Street intersection This infrastructure will complete the proposed improvements as part of the Idaho Community Development Block Grant (ICDBG-12-11-16). Formal bidding was conducted during February and all bids were opened on February 19, 2013. The bid tabulation describing the four bids received is attached. Granite Excavation is the apparent low bidder. Staff is currently reviewing updated department budgets and overall project funding to identify final project scope. Staff will provide a recommendation for award of contract at the Council Meeting. A draft contract is also provided.  RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the award of contract to __________ for the Third Street Corridor Revitalization Project, Sidewalk and Streetscape Improvements, and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents  RECORD OF COUNCIL ACTION  MEETING DATE ACTION
