SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The City of McCall is beginning the second phase of construction for the Idaho Community Development Block Grant (ICDBG) Third Street Corridor Revitalization. The goals of this project
are: to alleviate conditions of slum and blight in a portion of the redevelopment area on Third Street; to encourage economic development; to increase safe pedestrian access to local
businesses and transit; to improve the appearance of the downtown area; to address infrastructure deficiencies; and to comply with ADA standards.
This phase of construction will include the following:
Curb, gutter, sidewalk, stormwater, trees, and lights along west side of SH-55 between Colorado and Washington
Curb, gutter, sidewalk, stormwater, trees, and lights along west side of SH-55 between Washington Street and Park Street (Mountain Lakes Real Estate)
Grading and re-vegetation improvements to Ray Woods property
Access control and shared driveway approaches for adjoining property owners
Bike lanes and on-street parking
Extension of center-turn lane to south of Colorado/3rd Street intersection
This public hearing is a grant requirement and is identified in the Citizen Participation Plan which was approved by the Council on October 6, 2011. The hearing will provide an explanation
of the streetscape improvements and benefits of the project, overview of project funding, discussion of proposed construction schedule. This hearing has been advertized in the Star
News and the public is encouraged to attend and provide comments on the project. A project site map is attached. The Citizen Participation Plan will also be available at the public
hearing.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Hold the public hearing, and take public comment on the project.
