SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The intent of this agenda bill is to request revision of the AAC Charter to effect the following changes:
Revise the AAC’s role in making recommendations to City Council for airport hangar lease transactions.
Solidify the AAC’s role in providing recommendations for strategic planning functions for the airport. The AAC already provides recommendations for these planning functions and this
change request is to simply solidify their participation in the process.
Include language for recusal in the event of a conflict in interest. Again, this already takes place within AAC meetings and the intent of this addition is to simply solidify this requirement.
The enclosed draft AAC Charter was presented to the Airport Advisory Committee on January 8, 2015 and received a unanimous vote to recommend that City Council approved the revised AAC
Charter enclosed with this agenda bill. In addition to the enclosed draft charter, the airport manager has provided a memorandum to provide supporting material and justification for
the requested revisions.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve Resolution 15-03 to adopt the revisions to the Airport Advisory Committee Charter as drafted and presented with this agenda bill.
