SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Streets Department has received a $100,000 grant from ITD to complete various sidewalk curb ramp improvements within the SH-55 right-of-way to improve compliance with the American
Disabilities Act (A.D.A.). Plans and specifications were prepared in-house for curb ramp improvements at 6 locations (see attached Cover Sheet 1). Formal public works construction bidding,
in accordance with IDAPA, occurred during June and July. Two bids were received. Richard L. Jordan was the low bidder with a total bid proposal of $114,743.86. This bid has been verified
to be complete. A bid summary with all bid values and the engineer’s estimate is attached.
Included in this agenda bill is a copy of the draft construction contract. Funding for this contract will be provided by the ITD grant with supplemental funds coming from Streets Department
LOT funding dedicated to sidewalk improvements throughout the City. A complete set of construction plans is available upon request. Construction for this project will begin in early
August and be complete by the end of September, 2015
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Authorize staff to issue a “Notice of Award” to Richard L. Jordan, approve the contract, and authorize the Mayor to sign all contract documents.
