SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The City presently purchases Ethernet-based internet service from Frontier Communications at a rate of $980 on a month-to-month basis. This provides most external connectivity for users,
servers, remote access, and telecom. A prior 36-month term for service has ended. The underlying agreement from 2011, which has not expired, includes a non-appropriations clause for
multi-year terms.
The proposed “Schedule Number 2” to that agreement would provide internet capacity up to 10 times the present condition for $1064 per month with a 36 month term, and is expected to meet
the City’s needs. The Information Systems budget for FY2016 Network Services is $23,520.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve Schedule Number 2 to the Frontier Services Agreement dated October 20, 2011 and authorize the Mayor to sign Schedule Number 2 to the Agreement.
