SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Streets Department and Water Departments desire to complete stormwater improvements and fire hydrant replacement along Mill Street (just north of Fir Street). The existing stormwater
infrastructure is at the end of its usable life, undersized and flooding issues have occurred due to poor design. The existing fire hydrant is at the end of its usable life and is unusable
in its current state.
The estimated cost of this work is anticipated to exceed $25,000. Accordingly, informal bidding is being conducted. All bids will be received by 11/4. The City Engineer will provide
a summary of bids received and a recommendation for awarding a public works construction contract to complete the work.
Attached is a copy of the construction plans, request for proposal, and a draft version of the construction contract.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Authorize staff to issue a “Notice of Award” to _______ for the Mill Street Stormwater and Water improvements, and authorize the Mayor sign and execute all contract documents.
