SUMMARY STATEMENT:
At the October 22, 2015 City Council meeting, Public Works presented a short overview on the principles of Access Management. The City of McCall lacks a comprehensive Access Management
policy for its city streets. Access Management is the process of controlling the placement and design of intersections and driveways that access a public roadway. Access management
should balance the need for property owners with the need of the city to provide a safe efficient roadway network benefitting both. The policy should also recognize that no one criterion
can be absolute; given the unlimited variations in parcel size, terrain, development type, and surrounding street system.
The draft Access Management policy is attached for your review and consideration. This draft offers a broad outline of the full policy when completed.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
For information and discussion purposes only. Staff seeks further City Council direction.
