On October 5, 2015 Paul Dionne, the new operations manager for Lakeshore Disposal, provided a presentation to Valley County Board of Commissioners regarding a proposal for potential
curbside recycling in Valley County. The Commissioners heard the presentation and recommended that Mr. Dionne approach each city to receive initial feedback regarding the proposal.
Therefore, Mr. Dionne will be providing a similar presentation to the McCall City Council in search of initial feedback and direction.
The enclosed letter was previously provided to Council members, and provided to Commissioners during the presentation provided in October. This letter provides a general background of
the proposal which will be provided by Mr. Dionne during the December 17 Council meeting.
In the past, the issue of recycling has been proposed by community groups and the City’s Environmental Advisory Committee. Supporting enhanced recycling service and opportunities is
a goal of the McCall Area Comprehensive Plan.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Provide initial direction and feedback, if applicable, to Mr. Dionne regarding a discussion about a potential curbside recycling program.
