SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Idaho Transportation Department Division is authorized to issue grants to assist cities with capital projects to address pedestrian curb ramps on the state highway system. The goal
of the program is provide safe and easily accessible facilities for pedestrians with disabilities while allowing local jurisdiction flexibility in meeting the required standards. One
of the grant programs is the “Cash for Towns.” This is a discretionary funding program within each ITD District.
The City of McCall submitted a request for funding thru the “Cash for Towns” grant program in November 2014. Eight (8) curb ramps were identified along SH55 that needed improvements.
There was available $100,000 for this request to complete the work on these curb ramps to bring them into ADA compliance.
Resolution 15-05 accepting the grant and the Cooperative Agreement between the City and the Idaho Transportation Department are attached.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution 15-05 authorizing the Mayor to enter into, on behalf of said municipality, a Cooperative Agreement between the City of McCall and the Idaho Transportation Board, accepting
the Cash for Towns Offer in the amount of $100,000.
