SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Council may wish to provide general direction to the Local Option Tax Commission regarding priorities for FY16 Local Option Tax funding. 39 LOT fund applications were received. Staff
reviewed all applications to verify LOT fund requests met the qualifying criteria according to McCall City Code 4.12.5. Staff found 5 applications ineligible for funding. The remaining
34 eligible requests totaled $755,520 for FY16. The FY16 revenue forecasts for the lodging tax are estimated to be $340,000 with a contingency of $50,000.
The Local Option Tax Commission will review the applications and develop a recommendation to the Council on June 8, 10, and 11. The Commission’s recommendation will be presented to the
Council during the Council budget work session on June 12, 2015.
The FY16 LOT applications have been provided to the Council. The deadline for applying for LOT funds was April 30, 2015. Attached is a summary of the applications received and the eligible
applications for review.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Provide direction to the Local Option Tax Commission and staff.
