SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Within the existing agreement for collection and disposal of solid waste between the City of McCall and Lakeshore Disposal, collection of waste within commercial areas is mandated to
occur between the hours of 5 AM and 9 PM. On 14 April, Paul Dionne (McCall Lakeshore Site Manager) requested Council’s consideration to allow for collection within commercial areas
prior to 5 AM mitigating the challenges faced by collection crews during collection after 5 AM. Staff recommended that, if Council were to consider this request, a 6-month trial period
be considered. This trial period will allow both parties to observe and consider any unforeseen impacts from collection prior to 5 AM in the commercial areas. If there are no issues
observed with this practice, a permanent extension to the 6-month trial period would be requested. Council directed staff to prepare this addendum at the 14 April meeting.
Attached to this agenda bill is the collection agreement and proposed addendum to this agreement.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the Addendum to Agreement for Collection and Disposal of Solid Waste between The City of McCall and Lakeshore Disposal, and authorize the Mayor to sign any and all documents.
