SUMMARY STATEMENT:
In August 2015, Payette Lakes Community Association (PLCA) was chosen to receive Lot Option Tax funds for fiscal year 2016 to support our Summer Sensation event – Fun Day in the Park
for the July 4th weekend. This spring the City eliminated their event by scheduling a one-day 4th of July event at Legacy Park, free of charge, but still using the bounce houses and
water slide. (The City Recreation Department offered to pay the expense for the "Blow-ups" with their budgeted funds.)
PLCA’s Summer Sensation Programs continue to occur from June to August and serve the children in the community, as well as the visitors. They would like to transfer the use of the $950
allotted to PLCA for funding other expenses for their activity. In particular, the "Engineering-Build it" camp scheduled in July. The funds would be used to fund a major portion of
that camp and allow the youth to gain a greater experience in the engineering and building of robots.
Attached is their letter requesting the reallocation of LOT Funds for FY16.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the Payette Lakes Community Association’s request to reallocate $950 FY16 Local Option Tax funds for the "Engineering-Build it" camp activities.
