SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The City of McCall’s current Compensation Plan states that the City will perform a review of its compensation levels in comparison to applicable markets at least every two years. Staff
anticipated this expense while budgeting for FY16. The last salary survey was completed in 2013 by the same company, BDPA, Inc. The City has worked successfully with BDPA, Inc. for
compensation planning and salary survey data many times over the past ten years. BDPA, Inc. is the parent company which offers the salary comparison service via their product, NorthWest
Data Exchange. Staff is confident in the data provided and the process by which BDPA, Inc. derives their salary information.
NorthWest Data Exchange has provided a cover letter which details the services the City will be receiving. Staff is recommending the Gold Subscription for the added value of the three
(3) hours of consulting time with BDPA, Inc. Staff plans to use the consulting time to evaluate the City’s current salary chart design and create a new salary chart design that will
be more efficient and effective than the outdated plan currently in use. Also, the Gold Subscription includes access to a greater amount of data, as well as additional custom report
options.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve NW Data Exchange Corporate Compensation Data License Agreement and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
