SUMMARY STATEMENT:
This agreement is a settlement between Donald Storer, Storer Transportations School, and Contract Service (Storer Parties), and Idaho Counties Risk Management, City of McCall, McCall
Municipal Airport, and Ace Property & Casualty Insurance (McCall Related Parties). The settlement is for claims arising from an aircraft incident which occurred on the McCall Airport
February 21, 2016. The settlement pays Mr. Storer $23,393.13 and does not admit liability of any party involved and releases the City of future claims arising from this incident.
Incident background: Mr. Storer is a hangar tenant in the Flightline Condos at the airport. On Feb 21, Mr. Storer was taxiing his Cirrus 22 aircraft to the fixed-base operator (FBO)
when a main landing gear dropped into a manhole. Water had accumulated over an inoperative drain and obscured the open manhole from the pilot, FBO, and airport staff. Damage to the
aircraft resulted. The settlement agreement is attached.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the Settlement Agreement and Mutual Release of Claims among Storer Parties and the McCall-Related Parties and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
