SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Streets Department and Parks Department would like to request use of excess LOT funds from FY16 to be allocated to the ongoing Rotary Park Project and to preliminary engineering
for potential paving of Conifer, Flynn, and Chipmunk Lane under an LID. Under the Rotary Park project, a requested $13,000 dollars would offset three change orders which resulted from
conditions which were uknown in the design phase for this project. The change orders include:
Additional rip-rap and boulder placement to counter wave action and shoreline erosion;
Adjustments to walls and increases in building materials to accommodate variations in existing site conditions and existing trees and root zones;
Additional grading work and purchase of topsoil to cap areas of disturbance.
The reminaing $10,000 are requested to support preliminary engineering work for property owners pursuing an LID to pave Chipmunk, Conifer, and Flynn Lanes. It is anticipated that this
work will cost at or below $10,000, so staff would also like to request that any savings from the preliminary engineering project be applied to Rotary Park.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the allocation of $13,000 in excess FY16 LOT funds to amendments of the Rotary Park re-construction contract, and up to $10,000 toward the preliminary engineering to pave Conifer,
Flynn, and Chipmunk Lane, and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
