SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Noah Walgren, McCall – Donnelly High School student is proposing to create, as a chainsaw sculpture of the Lorax image from Dr. Seuss out of one of the tree stumps located in front of
the Library.
In keeping with the McCall Public Art Policies adopted by City Council (June 29, 2012), the public art proposal by Noah Walgren (see attached) was reviewed by the City of McCall Public
Art Advisory Committee at its November 10, 2016 meeting and unanimously recommended to City Council for approval, conditioned upon written confirmation that use of the Lorax image is
approved by the copyright holder.
The City of McCall Parks and Recreation Director and Library Director have reviewed the proposal and have no concerns.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the Library chainsaw public art senior project by Noah Walgren with the condition that written copyright approval for the proposed image be obtained.
