HomeMy Public PortalAbout2002-08- SALARIESORDINANCE 2002 -8 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE SIZE OF DEPARTMENTS OF CITY GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE, INDIANA, FIXING SALARIES FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF SUCH DEPARTMENTS AND FIXING THE SALARIES OF CERTAIN OTHER APPOINTED OFFICIALS FOR THE YEAR 2003 BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Indiana, as follows: SECTION ONE That all eligible full time members of the departments of the City of Greencastle shall be paid longevity beginning the first day of the anniversary month of the fourth, seventh and twelfth year of service. Longevity shall be based on 3 %, 4% and 5% respectively, i.e. those personnel in their fourth through sixth year of service shall be paid a 3% longevity; seventh through eleventh year of service shall be paid 4% and twelve years and over 5 %. Full time members shall be compensated for authorized overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, 29 U.S.C.A. 207. SECTION TWO: That the Police Department shall consist of eighteen (18) full time members and in addition, five (5) part time school crossing guards. That the Sewage Department shall pay to the City Engineer of the City of Greencastle for services rendered by the City Engineer on behalf of the Sewage Department during the year 2003 ® the sum of Twenty Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($20,400.00). That the Sewage Department shall pay to each of the two (2) citizen members of the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Greencastle for services rendered by the citizen members of the Board of Public Works and Safety on behalf of the Sewage Department during the year 2003 the sum of Nine Hundred Dollars ($900.00). SECTION EIGHT: That the Department of Water Works shall consist of eleven (11) full time members and three (3) part time members. That the Department of Water Works shall pay to each of the two (2) citizen members of the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Greencastle for services rendered by the citizen members of the Board of Public Works and Safety on behalf of the Department of Water Works during the year 2003 the sum of Nine Hundred Dollars ($900.00).
