AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE SIZE OF DEPARTMENTS OF CITY
GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE, INDIANA, FIXING SALARIES
FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF SUCH DEPARTMENTS AND FIXING THE SALARIES
OF CERTAIN OTHER APPOINTED OFFICIALS FOR THE YEAR 2003
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION ONE That all eligible full time members of the departments of the City of
Greencastle shall be paid longevity beginning the first day of the anniversary month of the
fourth, seventh and twelfth year of service. Longevity shall be based on 3 %, 4% and 5%
respectively, i.e. those personnel in their fourth through sixth year of service shall be paid a 3%
longevity; seventh through eleventh year of service shall be paid 4% and twelve years and over
5 %. Full time members shall be compensated for authorized overtime in accordance with the
Fair Labor Standards Act, 29 U.S.C.A. 207.
SECTION TWO: That the Police Department shall consist of eighteen (18) full time
members and in addition, five (5) part time school crossing guards. Base pay ranges, including
the maximum, shall be as follows:
P5 - Police Chief
P5 - Assistant Chief
P4 - Captain (3)
P3 - Sergeant (3)
P2 - Patrolman (7)
P2 - Probationary Patrolman
P1 -Parking Violations Officer
C3 - Secretary

That the Sewage Department shall pay to the Deputy Clerk- Treasurer of the City of
Greencastle for services rendered by the Deputy Clerk- Treasurer on behalf of the Sewage
Department during the year 2003 the sum of Six Thousand Three Hundred Dollars ($6300.00).
That the Sewage Department shall pay to the City Engineer of the City of Greencastle for
services rendered by the City Engineer on behalf of the Sewage Department during the year 2003
® the sum of Twenty Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($20,400.00).
That the Sewage Department shall pay to each of the two (2) citizen members of the
Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Greencastle for services rendered by the citizen
members of the Board of Public Works and Safety on behalf of the Sewage Department during
the year 2003 the sum of Nine Hundred Dollars ($900.00).
SECTION EIGHT: That the Department of Water Works shall consist of eleven (11) full
time members and three (3) part time members. Base pay ranges, including the maximum, shall
be as follows:

That the Department of Water Works shall pay to the Deputy Clerk- Treasurer of the City
® of Greencastle for services rendered by the deputy Clerk - Treasurer on behalf of the Department
of Water Works during the year 2003 the sum of Six Thousand Three Hundred Dollars
($6,300.00)
That the Department of Water Works shall pay to the City Engineer of the City of
Greencastle for services rendered by the City Engineer on behalf of the Department of Water
Works during the year 2003 the sum of Twenty Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($20,400.00).
That the Department of Water Works shall pay to each of the two (2) citizen members of
the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Greencastle for services rendered by the
citizen members of the Board of Public Works and Safety on behalf of the Department of Water
Works during the year 2003 the sum of Nine Hundred Dollars ($900.00).
SECTION NINE: That the salaries of certain other appointed officials of the City of
Greencastle shall be as follows:
