SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Airport is in need of a more modern and capable Snow Blower. The current model, a 1954 Oshkosh, still functions but is extremely inefficient. Blowing operations are slow due
to capabilities of the machine and further aggravated by frequent work stoppages to replace shear pins. The acquired unit would be used as a gap filler until an AIP funded blower can
be added to the Capital Improvement Plan. Due to higher priority AIP projects the acquired blower is expected to be in use for several years. The Airport intends to sell the Oshkosh
blower as surplus to offset the cost of this purchase.
The airport issued an Invitation to Bid to purchase a used snow blower. Bids will be opened March 8, and a bid tabulation and recommendation will be presented to Council at the March
10, 2016 Council Meeting.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Authorize staff to issue a “Notice of Award” to _____________ for the purchase of a used snow blower in the amount of _________, and authorize the Mayor sign all necessary documents.
