SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The existing agreement between the City of McCall and Lakeshore Disposal prohibits waste collection in commercial areas prior to 5 AM and after 9 PM. This same contract provides Council
the authority to amend collection times “…as reasonably required by the needs of the public and Contractor.” Paul Dionne, Site Manager for Lakeshore Disposal in McCall, would like to
request the Council’s consideration to allow collection prior to 5 AM in commercial areas. A copy of the existing agreement is enclosed with this agenda bill.
Paragraph 4. L. of the same agreement referenced above mandates that an update be provided to the Council every 6 months regarding “…amounts of solid waste collected, complaint procedures,
a summary of complaints received, vehicle maintenance, rates, regulations, and days of collection.” Paul Dionne will provide this update during this same presentation/agenda bill.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Direct staff to prepare a contract amendment which would allow solid waste collection within commercial areas of McCall prior to 5 AM.
OR
Direct staff to prepare a contract amendment which would allow for a temporary/6-month approval to collect solid waste within commercial areas of McCall prior to 5 AM.
OR
Deny the request to allow for solid waste collection in commercial areas of McCall prior to 5 AM.
