SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Stacey Katseanes Satterlee, Idaho State Director, Government Relations of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network gave a presentation on the merits of a Smoke Free Idaho at
the August 22, 2013 City Council Meeting. The intent of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network is inform public agencies on the merits of a smoke free ordinance to protect
the public health, the health of employees who work in public places, and the rights of nonsmokers to breathe clean air by prohibiting smoking in public places and in places of employment.
The Council has had continued discussions during their October 9, 2013, January 23, 2014, February 13, 2014, and April 10, 2014 City Council Meetings regarding the merits of a smoke-free
ordinance in McCall.
Attached is a draft ordinance for Council review and consideration. Also attached is a memo from the City Manager.
