SUMMARY STATEMENT:
On 23 May the airport manager captured Council’s feedback regarding a proposal for revision of the airport’s non-commercial lease template. Changes to the draft lease template resulting
from this feedback were subsequently presented to the Airport Advisory Committee for discussion. A presentation will be issued by the Airport Manager outlining a proposal for proceeding
with approval of a lease template and a potential process for lease rate establishment and offering of new leases to hangar owners.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve procurement of an appraisal, which evaluates land value, comparable airport rates, and return on investment (ROI) to recommend a fair market lease rate and seasonal tie-down
rate for the airport and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
Approve a process whereby the airport manager and AAC members will seek letters of interest from airport tenants for entrance into a new lease, pending approval of a draft lease template
and acceptance of a completed appraisal by Council.
