SUMMARY STATEMENT:
On 23 May the airport manager captured Council’s feedback regarding a proposal for revision of the airport’s non-commercial lease template. Changes to the draft lease template resulting
from this feedback were subsequently presented to the Airport Advisory Committee for discussion. A final draft lease template is enclosed for consideration by Council. Additionally,
an outline of language adjustments is enclosed which outlines existing and proposed language within the draft lease. Any remaining objections to language held by the AAC will be presented
by the airport manager during this presentation.
Of note, within the enclosed draft lease two language options for adjustment of lease rates within paragraph 11 have been provided. Pending the outcome of Council’s decision regarding
use of an appraisal to establish rental rates, one of these options will be removed from the proposal.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the enclosed draft lease template, with use of the appropriate adjustment provision within paragraph 11, for use when developing new non-commercial lease agreements for airport
hangars.
