SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Council has reviewed the draft of the proposed 1% Local Option Sales Tax Ordinance on July 24 and then again on August 14. Council gave feedback to staff on suggested changes to
the ordinance. Council held a Public Forum on August 13, 2014 and received comments from approximately 40 citizens of McCall.
At the July 24, 2014 City Council Meeting the Council reviewed a survey conducted online from the City’s website, by downloading a survey from the City’s website, or by picking-up a
hard-copy at City Hall. The survey was made available to the public beginning on Monday, July 16, 2014, until Noon, on July 24, 2014.
Attached is the final Proposed 1% Ordinance for Council Adoption.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
1. Suspend the rules, read by title only, one time only, Ordinance No. _____, Imposing a non-property tax of one percent (1%) on the sales price of all property subject to taxation
under Idaho Code 63 3601,
2. Adopt Ordinance No. ____, Imposing a non-property tax of one percent (1%) on the sales price of all property subject to taxation under Idaho Code 63 3601, approve the publication
of the summary, approve the ballot initiative, and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
