Gonzalez, Village Manager Date: December 22, 2023 Subject: Bal Harbour Residential Website Performance Annual Report The purpose of this Letter to Council (LTC) is to inform you of the resident website's performance since its launch last year. The Village launched a newly redesigned balharbourfl.gov website for residents in 2022. The redesign was one of the latest initiatives to facilitate the way our residents connect with the Village. The website debuted with a soft launch on October 19, 2022, and the website officially launched to the public with a digital campaign in December 2022. The website was designed with our residents in mind, prioritizing simple navigation and access to information while guaranteeing an accessible and responsive site for an overall enhanced experience. The new site is now available in multiple languages, allowing users to seamlessly switch from English to Hebrew, Portuguese, Russian, or Spanish. On the new residential site, residents can easily locate information and complete transactions, such as bill payments and records requests, directly on the site. Throughout the launch, a survey was shared with all visitors to gather feedback on how we could continue to improve the website. The majority of respondents shared that they found the new site to be easier to navigate and informative. Some of the feedback included suggestions for improvement, many of which were addressed in real-time, such as easier navigation to public meetings. This was addressed with a button on the homepage and additional links on the main navigation. The Village will continue to collect feedback and make enhancements in order to best meet the community's needs. Top Searches The new website provides a more comprehensive search feature with better indexing. Over the past year, there was a total of 710 total searches. The top searches included: • Jobs (20) • Permit Application (16) • Contractor Registration (10) • Art Basel (9) • Forms (7) Top Pages 1. balharbourfl.gov - 28,522 2. balhar.bourfle,ov//doing-business/building-permits/ - 9,880 3. balharbourfl.gov/events/ - 7,041 4. balharbourfl.gov/departments/building/ - 6,502 5. balharbourfl.gov/community/transportation/ - 3,479* *This is an increase in page views, of over 2,000%. This is a result of the launch of Freebee and a dedicated campaign directing residents to this page for more information. Key Highlights • A decrease in homepage pageviews (of 8.38%) while total pageviews increased reflects the increased comfort levels of our end users. Residents have likely bookmarked their frequently used pages allowing them to go directly where they need, or use direct links from social media and email blasts rather than landing on the homepage and searching around for what they need. • balharbourfl.gov/event/independenceday2023/ was the event with the highest pageviews with 2,477 pageviews, ranking as the ninth most viewed page this period. • 2,042 pageviews came from social media platforms, an increase of 315.89%. GLOSSARY Sessions - A session is a single visit by a single user. A session begins once a visitor lands on the site and ends after 30 minutes of inactivity. Users - Unique visitors to the site, number of individual users who have visited the website or multiple pages on the website at least once. Pageviews - Number of total visits to the website, including multiple visits per user. Pages per Session - The average number of pages a user views during a single session on a website.
