The members of the LOT Commission have the responsibility to develop annual budgets and make specific recommendations for the use of the local-option, non-property tax revenues derived from the collected taxes. The LOT Commission will annually host at least one public meeting prior to making its recommendation to the City Council for the budget for the upcoming fiscal year. There is currently a vacancy on the Local Option Tax Commission for one At Large City Resident. The vacancy was posted in The Star News. The Clerk office received applications from Sandi Hammond and Doug Russell for the LOT Commission appointment. Both applicants meet the qualifications needed to serve on the LOT Commission as an At Large Resident. Ms. Hammond has worked in a variety of local retail businesses and currently serves on the McCall Historic Preservation Commission. Mr. Russell has served on the McCall Area Planning and Zoning Commission and has extensive experience with fund allocation. The letters of interest are attached. Staff is recommending Council choose the applicant for the At Large Resident representative for the LOT Commission.
