SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The City of McCall Parks and Recreation Director has received a proposal from Mile High Marina to operate a Stand Up Paddle Board concession at Legacy Park. Mile High Marina has submitted
the attached proposal. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board reviewed the proposal at the regularly scheduled meeting on March 19, 2014. The McCall Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
recommends granting a concession permit to Mile High Marina. The Advisory Board believes that having marina staff on site will improve safety. The Advisory Board recommends that the
term of the permit be for one use season.
The Parks and Recreation Director met with the owners and manager of Mile High Marina concerning this proposal, as well as a beautification project north of the marina. The Parks and
Recreation Director does not recommend granting a concession permit in Legacy Park. It is staff’s opinion that the proposed area is highly congested and may lead to additional issues.
However, the Director does recommend granting a concession permit north of the marina.
The attached proposal meets all of the requirements for commercial activity included in the “Guidelines for Commercial Activity in McCall City Parks” adopted by the McCall City Council
in November of 2011.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Deny the concession request but encourage Mile High Marina to continue to work with staff on a location north of the marina.
