SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Following City Council’s rejection of initial bids (on 5/25/17), the Streets Department has rebid our annual striping contract. Striping work will consist of approximately 16 miles of
city roads, as well as stop bars, turn arrows, and crosswalks on State Hwy 55. Added to the bid request has been a bid alternate for shared lane markings (i.e. Sharrows) to be painted
according to the Pathways Master Plan.
Because the cost of this contract is less than $100,000, informal bidding was conducted. The bid opening will be conducted on June 5, 2017. Staff will present the bidding results and
provide a recommendation for contract award.
Attached is the bid schedule and draft contract. This has been reviewed by legal counsel.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the Award of the 2017 Street Striping contract to __________________ for ______________, and authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
