SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Biennially at the first meeting of the Council, or periodically, the members thereof, by majority vote, may
designate one of their number as Council President for such period as the Council may specify, to serve in
the absence or temporary disability of the Mayor; or, in lieu thereof, the Council may, as the need may arise,
appoint any qualified person to serve as Council President in the absence or temporary disability of the
Mayor.
With the resignation of Council Member Nic Swanson who also served as the Council President, the Council
needs to select one of their members to serve as Council President until January 11, 2018.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Appoint ________ as Council President for a term to expire on January 11, 2018.
