HomeMy Public PortalAboutAB 17-039 Idaho Day ProclamationMcCALL CITY COUNCIL 216 East Park Street AGENDA BILL McCall, Idaho 83638 Number AB 17-39 Meeting Date February 23, 2017 AGENDA ITEM INFORMATION  SUBJECT: Request to Proclaim March 3, 2017 as the Celebration of Idaho Day Department Approvals Initials Originator or Supporter   Mayor / Council     City Manager     Clerk  Originator   Treasurer     Community Development     Police Department     Public Works     Golf Course    COST IMPACT:  Parks and Recreation    FUNDING SOURCE:  Airport      Library    TIMELINE:  Information Systems      Grant Coordinator    SUMMARY STATEMENT: In 2014 the Idaho Legislature established March 4 as Idaho Day, to be observed each year with a proclamation from the governor and programs at the State Capitol, as well as events and activities in communities statewide. 2017’s theme is "Idaho the Beautiful," and everyone is encouraged to learn about and celebrate the beauty of Idaho, and to wear the royal blue of our state flag. Last year, the state's Capitol building both the House and Senate Chambers recognized Idaho Day with special programs; schools and libraries displayed Idaho-themed books and held Idaho trivia quizzes, Idaho Rendezvous, and numerous other activities. The McCall City Library is hosting an Idaho History day on March 4th, and the Barbara R Morgan Elementary School 4th graders and teachers will be coming for Idaho research room and fun Idaho related activities. Proclamation is attached.  RECOMMENDED ACTION: Proclaim March 3, 2017 as the celebration of Idaho Day in the City of McCall and authorize the Mayor to sign the proclamation.
