An Ordinance of the City of Lynwood defining nuisances; prohibiting the commission of any nuisance in said city, and fixing a. penalty therefor. T h e Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood, California, do ordain as follows, to -wit: SECTION I. It is hereby declared to be a public nuisance and to and prohibeted for any person, association, firm or corporation, - cipal,agent, officer, clerk or employee, for itself, himself or or for any other person, association, firm or corporation, to do, _ _ -tain, conduct or carry on within said city of Lynwood any one o the following things, acts or- occupations. viz--, be unlawful as prin themselves, keep, main r more of (a) a SLAUGHTER HOUSES, etc. Any Slaughter House, Soap Factory, Grease or Rend -ing Works, Fertilizer Works, or any place where Gnrbage, Rags,or Junk is stored or kept. (b) etc. FILTHY STABLES AND YARDS, /.On any premises owned or'controlled by him, her, it or them any chicken coop or yard, cow - house, stable, vault, drain -pool, sewer, sink or place in a foul, offensive,noxious or f'ilth5 condition. OBSTRUCTION OF STREETS. Erect, construct, place or maintain any buildix or fence, porch or steps, posts, p1es,Tracks, wires, pipes, condits or other obstructions,•in whole or in part, upon or in any street, lane of alley in the City of Lynwood, without express authority therefor grants by the Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood, and without having cot -lied with the ordinances of the said City relating thereto, (d) -- - EXCAVAT_IONS:.IN- STR?;F"TS,_ LABES OR ALLEYS. To dig in, excavate, tear uI or injure any street, lane or alley within said "C`ity "Jfthout = express ~1i authority therefor - .granted by the Superintendent of Streets of the sa.. City, and without- having,complied, with the ordinances of the said Cit. relating thereto. DEPOSITING OF RUBBISH or OTHER NOXIOUS SUBSTANCES. To throw, deposit or place at or upon any street, lane or alley, in said City, any gl "as; bottles, paper or other rubbish,. or any unsightly or foul or noxious substances. LIGHTS ON OBSTRUCTIONS. Maintain any obstruction or excavation in an street, lane or alley, in said City, and fail or neglect to provide is the night -time suitable light or lights to ward users of such street, lane or alley of such obstruction or excavation.' ( EXPECTORATION. To expectoratem on the floor of'any public building, i hall or stairway, or street car' or bus or other public conveyance or upon any side -walk in said City. (h)_v. _., HAULING'DIRT, etc, To haul "any dirt; bricks; and's gravel,. crushed rock, or other material which is like to fall and cause injury to the service of any street, lane or alley in said City, unless contain in a box, receptacle or carrier which prevents any part of the load from dropping upon the street, lane or alley. F ' (i) BURIALS IN CITY LIMITS. To bury, inter or cause to be burried or - terred the dead body of any human being. Page One. I c � CK (j) VAULTS. To keep or maintain or permit to be kept or maintained at -or upon any premises owned or controlled by him, her, it or them any open ditch c drain for waste water from any building or place or any sewage or dx$ #xix to drain or flow any waste water upon any street, lane or alley in the City of Lynwood. (k) GARBAGE. To deposit, keep or accumulate, or cause to be deposited, kept of accumulated any garbage at, or upon any premises owned, occupied or controlled by him, her, it or them, unless the same be inclosed in a water -tight galvanized iron or metal receptacle with a close fitting cove and provided with handles; or to keep any garbage on or about such premi; for a period of more than one week. Swill shall not be placed in the same -- - receptale with garbage. The provisions of the subsection k in regard to garbage shall apply to swill. (1) REMOVAL OF GARBAGE. To haul, remove or carry any garbage or swill throuE upon or along any street, lane or alley in the City of Lynwood uless he, her, it or them be duly authorized so to do by the Board of Trustees of t City of Lynwood, and uless such garbage or swill be be contained in a strong water -tight metal compartment or or receptacle having a tight fit- -ting wooden or metal cover or covers, and so constructed as to pBevent any garbage or swill from escaping therefro4l. (m) THEH DEPOSIT AND ACCUMULATION OF REFUSE. To cause, suffer or permit the carcass of any animal or bird to remain upon any premises owned, contro: -led or occupied by him 'her, it or them for a,period of more than twenty -four hours, or to cause, suffer or permit any animal or vegatable waste matter, garbage, filth, slop, swill, stagnant water or other sub- - stance liable to become putrid offensive to the senses, or to collect or deposit upon any such premises, except as otherwise provided in thi; ordinance in respect to garbage and swill.. _._(n) -- - - -- or is " offensive To flo anything which is injurious to.health, or is indecent /to the senses, or is dangerous to life or property in said City. To construct or maintain in the City of Lynwood any building or struct• which by reason if its situation, condition or-use is dangerous to the life, health, property or morals of the inhabitants of the said City. SECTION 2. Any violation of any of the provision shall be dsmwsmed deemed a misdemeanor punishable a fine of not less than $ 5" , and not more than 6 / p p ° —° ; or by imprision in the City Jail of tho City of Lynwood or in the County Jail of Los Angeles County for a term not less than atiuJ dayt or more than ,f ..l days,- or by both such fine and imprisonment.
