An Ordinance of the Board of Trustees of the City of
Lynwood, Cal., regulating traffic on certain streets in
the City of Lynwood; and providing a penalty for the vio-
lation of said Ordinance.
The Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood does ordain as fol-
lows, to -wit:
Section 1: After this Ordinance goes into effect all vehicles
whether automobiles, auto - trucks, motorcycles or vehicles drawn by
any animal or animals, shall come to a full stop before crossing or
entering upon any portion of Long Beach Boulevard within the limits
of the City of Lynwood; and it shall be the duty of every person
operating any of such vehicles to cause such vehicles so operated
by him, or her, to come to a full stop as above provided in this
section.
Section 2: After this Ordinance goes into effect all vehicles
whether automobiles, auto - trucks, motorcycles or vehicles drawn by
any animal, or animals,shallN slow down 'in speed to not exceeding
Five (5) miles per hour before entering the intersection area,form-
ed by Long Beach Boulevard and Lynwood Road; and it shall be the
duty of ever,, person operating any such vehicle to cause such ve-
hicle so operated by him, or her, to slow down in speed to not ex-
ceeding Five (5) miles per hour as above provided in this section.
The "slow down area" provided in this section shall be known as a
"School Zone. ".
Section 3: Nothing in this Ordinance contained shall be made
to affect or apply in any way to any vehicle operated by any po-
lice officer or fireman in the actual discharge of his duties as
such police officer or fireman.

Section 4: It shall be the duty of the Marshal of the City
of Lynwood'to cause to be prepared suitable signs for the stop
places provided in section One of this Ordinance to furnish notice
of'each of such stops with the following words thereon, viz: "Bou-
levard Stop." Such ;Marshal shall also prepare suitable signs for the
"slow down area" described in section Two of this Ordinance with the
following words thereon, viz: "School Slow 5 Miles "; and the slid
PMarshal shall post up said signs at or near the said several places
so provided by sections One and Two of this Ordinance.
Section 5: Any violation of this Ordinance shall he deemed a
misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than Five ($5.00) Dol-
lars, or more than Sixty ( Dollars; or by improsonment in
the County jail of Los Angeles County or the City jail of Lynwood
for a term of not less than Five (5) days or more than Sixty (60)
Days, or bybboth such fire a imprisonment. A judgment imposing a
fine may provide for collection by imprisonment in either of
said jails in the proportion of one day for each dollar of the fine
until the fine be wholly satisfied.
