An Ordinance of the Board of Trustees of the
City* of Lyrvrocd., Cal., approving the Annexation
to the laid City of Lynwood of } Addition No 1."
Whereas the Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood on the
12th day of. March, 1924, received a written petition signed by not less
than one - fourth (mod of the qualified electors residing in the territory
described therein (and hereinafter described) as shown by the registra -'
tion of voters of the County of Los Angeles, being the County in which
such territory is situated, which said petition contained a description
of certain new territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Lynwood,
and asked that such territory'be annexed to, incorporated in and made a
part of the said City of Lynwood; and whereas the said petition contain
ed a request that the question be submitted to the electors residing in
the said territory, as hereinafter set forth, and
Whereas the said Board of Trustees immediately after the re-
ceipt of the said petition and or, the 12th day of March, 1924, did by
its Resolution No 168 on file in the off ice of the City Clerk of the
City of Lynwood order that a Special Election be held in the territory
so proposed to be annexed on the 26th day of April, 1924; and that no-
tice of such Special Election be given by the publication of a Notice
thereof in L'The "New Compton, "' the same being a newspaper of general cir-
culation printed and published outside of the City of Lynwood but in the
County of Los Angeles, at least once a week for a period of five succes-
sive weeks next preceding the date of suuh election, the said Notice be-
ing set forth substantially in said Resolution, and
Whereas the said petition requested, and the said Notice spec-
ified, election he called and held -in pu.r.suance,..of. -the pr.o --
visions of the Act of the Legislature of the State of California entitled
"An Act to provide for the Alteration of the Boundaries of and for the
Annexation of Territory to Municipal Corporations, for the Incorpora-
tion of such Annexed Territory,in and as a part thereof, and for the
Districting, Government and iVu nicipal Control of such Annexed Territory,"
approved June 11th, 1913, and all amendments thereof, and
'Khereas the said Notice set forth in detail all matters requi-
red by law, including the date of such election, the proposal required
to be submitted, a specific description of the boundaries-of the terri-
tory proposed to be annexed and a designation of said territory as "Ad-
dition No 1 to the City of Lynwood," and
Whereas pursuant to the proceedings hereinafter indicated and
in accordance with the provisions of the said Act of the Legislature of
the State of California, and all amendments thereof, a Special Election
was held in the territory in said petition and hereinafter described
and designated as "Addition No 1 to the City of Lynwood," on the 26th
day of April, 1924; at which election there was submitted to such elec-
tors the said proposition, and
Whereas notice of such election was given ba publication in
the time, form and manner required by said Act, as appears from the af-
fidavit of publication on file with the City Clerk of the City of Lyn-
wood, and
Whereas it appears that the said Special Election was duly a
called and held pursuant to said Notice and in accordance with taw on
the 26th day of April, 1924; that, the polls for said election were

said Notice and, that the said Special Election was held and conducted
and votes thereof received and canvassed and the resulVr thereof deter-
mined and declared in the time, form and manner required by law, and
Whereas the said Board of Trustees did on the 30th day of
April, 1924, being the time provided for, its tegular meeting next
after the expiration of three days from and after the date of said 't.

as required by law, whereupon the result of the said canvass having
been found to as hereinafter stated, and entered upon the Minutes,

The Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood does ordain
as follows, to -wit:
Section 1: That the new territory proposed to be annexed
to the City of Lynwood, as aforesaid, is particalarly described as
follows, To -wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the northerly boundary
line of the City of Lynwood, as the same existed on February 19th,
1924, with the southerly prolongation of the westerly line of Lot 51
of Tract 'No 5456, as shown on map 1^,ecorded in Book 59 of [Rats, page 66, r
records of Los Angeles County; thence northerly, along the:westerly
linelof Tract No 5456, to the northwest corner of Lot 1 of said Tract
No 5456, being a point in the southerly line of. Abbott Road,.as
shown on said Map of Tract No :5456; thence easterly, .along -the south-
erly line of Tweedy - Abbott. Road. and continuing easterly along the south-
erly line of Tweedy - Abbott Road as shown on Map of Tract No 6474, re-
corded in Book 71 of Maps, Page 5; 'records of 'said County of Los Ane-

les, and as shown on Map of Tract No 5259, recorded in Look 57 of tZa
Page 45, records oft said County,'to the northeast corner of Lot !'of
said Tract No 5259, being an angle point in the boundary line of the
aforesaid City of Lynwood; thence southerly along the westerly.'bound-
ary line of'said City of Lynwood and continuing along the boundary line
of said City of Lynwood in all its various courses to the point of be-
ginning. V
Section 2: That there was but one election precinct estab-
lished and provided for'the }folding of said Special Election, the boun-
daries of.which were, and are, the boundaries of the said territory.
Section 3; That the proposition voted on in said Special
Election was whether said described territory should be annexed to the
City of Lynwood; and that the whole. number of votes cast on said propo-
sition at said Special Election on April,26th, 1924, was Fifty -five
(55) votes;, and that the number of votes cast at such election in favor
of said proposition was Thirty -six (36) votes, and the dumber of votes
cast against the same was Seventeen (17), And whereas it appears from
the canvass of the returns of the said election so held -in said terri-
tory on said proposition are in favor of said- annexation. It is further
ordained that the annexation of the said territory to the City of Lyn-
wood is hereby approved; and the said territory is hereby declared to
be annexed to, incorporated in and matte a part of the City of'L
And it is hereby ordered that a certified copy of this Ordi-
nance, giving the date of its passae, under the seal of the City of
Lynwood, be submitted`to and filed with the Secretary of State of the
State of California. From and after the date of which filing the annexa-
tion of such territory shall be deemed to be complete, and thenceforth
the said annexed territory shall be to all intents and purposes a part
of the City of Lynwood.
