follows:
An Ordinance of the Board of Trustees of the City
of Lynwood, California, licensing and regulating
various businesses in the said City of Lynwood; pro-
viding a penalty for violations thereof, and repeal-
ing Ordinances Nos 21 and 23.
The Board of Trustees of the Cit of Lynwood does ordain as
Section 1: It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in
any business in the City of Lynwood without first obtaining a license
so to do from the City of Lynwood,�unless such business is exempt
from license. '
Section 2: A business shall be construed as meaning any
transaction in which money or any other consideration is used.
Section 3: It shall be necessary to obtain a license for
every separate place of business even though conducted in conjunc-
tion with another place of business in the City of Lynwood.
)� A Section 4: It shall be the duty of the City Clerk to pre -
pare all license blanks and deliver same to the City Marshal who
shall act as license collector and make return to the City Clerk at
least once each week.
Section 5: It shall be the duty of every person licensed by
the City of Lynwood to exhibit same upon demand of any officer of the
said City of Lynwood.
�> Section 6: All honorably discharged soldiers,.sailors and
marines of the United States are exempt from license under this Ordi-
nance when engaged in the business of peddling or soliciting.
Section 7: Every person who agrees, or undertakes, to per-
form any act, or service, for which he receives a stipulated sum as
compensation, shall be deemed to come within the provisions of this
Ordinance.
Section 8: The word person wherever used in this Ordinance
shall be deemed tolmean any person, firm, association or corporation
doing business in the City of Lynwood.'
Section 9: Every person engaged in any business in the City
of Lynwood, unless ot�erwise mentioned in this 6rdirance, or exempt
therefrom, shall pay a license fee.of Twelve (12) Dollars annually,
payable in advance.
Section 10: Every person engaged in the business of a plumb -
ing contractor, or contracting for the installation of electrical
�p wiring, shall pay a license fee of Forty (40) Dollars annually, pay-
able in advance.
Section 11: Every person engaged in the business of conduct-
ing a circus, or other public exhibition, shall pay a license fee of
Five (5) Dollars per day for every 500 seats, seating capacity, or
less.

pay a license fee of Two (2) Dollars per day.
Section 13: Every person engaged in the business of auction-
eer shall pay a license fee of Five (5).Dot.1 per day.
Section 14: Every person engaged in the business of distribut
advertising in the City of Lynwood shall pay a license fee of One (1)
Dollar per day.
Section 142: All Churches, and charitable and benevolent in-
stitutions are exempt from license in the City of Lynwood. '
Section 15: Any person violating any of the provisions
of ,this Ordinance shall be- deemed ,guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon
'conviction thereof, shall be punishable by a fine of not more than
Fifty (50) Dollars,'or by imprisonment the County or City jail
for a period of not more than Fifty (50) days, or by both such fine
and imprisonment.
Section 16: Every person shall be deemed guilty of a .
separate offense for every day in which a violation of this Ordi-
a.nance Is committed.
Section 17: Ordinances Nos. 21 and 23 and all other
Ordinances or portions of Ordinances of the City of Lynwood incon-
flirt herewith are hereby annulled.
Section.18: :,The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this Ordinance and cause the same to be published once in The
Lynwood Tribune.
