An Ordinance of the Board of Trustees of the City
of Lynwood, Cal., approving the Annexation to the said
City of Lynwood of "Addition No 6."
.Whereas the Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood on the 18th day
of June, 1924, received a written petition signed by not less than one - fourth
(,) of the qualified electors residing in the territory described therein
(and herein described) as shown by the registration of voters of the County
of Los Angeles, being the County in which such territory is situated, which
said petition contained a description of certain new territory proposed to be
annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the said City of Lynwood; and
whereas the said petition contained a request that the question be submitted
to the electors residing in the said territory, as hereinafter set forth, and
Whereas the said Board of Trustees immediately after the receipt of
the said petition and on the 18th day of June, 1924, did by its Resolution
No 188 on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood, order
that a Special Election be held in the territory so proposed to be annexed on
the 19th day of July, 1924; and that notice of such Special Election be given
by the publication of a notice thereof in "The New Compton, " the same being
a newspaper of general circulation printed and published outside of the City
of Lynwood, but in the County of Los Angeles, at least once a week for a per-
iod of five successive weeks next preceding the date of such election, the
said Notice being set forth substantially in said Resolution, and
Whereas the said petition requested, and the said notice specified,
that the said election be called and held in pursuance of the provisions of
the Act of the Legislature of the State of California entitled "An Act to
provide for the Alteration of the Boundaries of and for the Annexation of
Territory to Municipal Corporations, for the Incorporation of such Annexed
Territory in and as a part thereof, and for the Districting, Government and
Municipal control of such Annexed Territory," approved June 11th, 1913, and
all amendments thereof, and
Whereas.bhe said Notice set forth in detail all matters required by
law, including the date of such election, the proposal required to be sub
mitted, a specific description of the boundaries of the territory proposed
to be annexed and a designation of said territory as "Addition No 6 to the
City of Lynwood," and
Whereas pursuant to the proceedings hereinafter indicated and do ac-
cordance with the provisions of the said Act of the Legislature of the State
of California, and all amendments thereof, a Special Election was held in the
territory in said petition and hereinafter. described and designated as "Addit-
ion No 6 to the City of Lynwood," on the 19th day of.J.uly, 1924; at which
election there was submitted to such electors the said proposition, and
Whereas notice of such election was given by publication in the time,
form and manner required by said Act, as appears from the affidavit of pub-
lication on file with the City Cler!_: of the City of Lynwood, and
Whereas it appears that the said Special Election was duly called and
held pursuant to said notice and in accordance with law on the 19th day of
July, 1924; that the polls for said election were kept open during the time
required by law and in accordance with the said notice and that the said Spec-
ial Election was held and condmcted and votes thereof recieved and canvassed
and the result thereof determined and declared in the time, form and manner
required by law, and
Whereas the said Board of Trustees did on the 23rd day of July, 1924,
being the time provided for, its regular meeting next after the expiration of
three days from and after the date of said election, meet and canvass the re-
turns of the said Special Election as required by law, whereupon the result
of the said canvass having been found to be as hereinafter stated, and entered
upon the Mlinutes, now therefore
The Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood does ordain as follows,
to -wit:
Section 1: That the new territory proposed to be annexed to the City
of Lynwood, as aforesaid, is particularly described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the westerly line of Bullis Road
with.the westerly prolongation of:the northerly line'of that portion of Wal-
nut Avenue lying ;easterly of Bill is.Road, all as shown on map of Tract No.
7816, recorded in L Book 91, pages 29, 21 and 22 of maps„ records of Los Angeles
County, said point of beginning being in the easterly boundary line of the
City of Lynwood, as it existed May 8th, 1924; thence along the westerly
prolongation of the northerly line of said ''Nalnut Avenue to the easterly line
of said Bullis Road,.being a,point in the boundary line of said Tract Nch.
7B16, as shown by colored border line on the aforesaid man of Tract
7816; thence easterly, northerly, easterly and southerly along the various
courses of said boundary line of said Tract No. 7816 to the southeast, corner
of said Tract No. 7816; thence southerly along the southerly prolongation of
the easterly boundary line of said Tract No. 7816, a distance of 16.50 feet
to a point; thence westerly along a line parallel with the southerly boundary
line of said Tract No. 7816 and its westerly prolongation to the southerly
prolongation of the westerly line of that nortion of Bullis Road lying north `
"of Lugo Avenue,.as shown on the aforesaid map of Tract No. 7816; thence north-
erly along said last mentioned prolongation to a point in the easterly bound-
ary line of the City of Lynwood as it existed 1.4av 8th, 1924; thence northerly
along the easterly boundary line of said City of Lynwood to the point of be-
ginning. v
Section 2: That there was but one election precinct, established and
" provided for.the holding of said Special Election, the boundaries of which were
and are,.the boundaries of the said territory,'
Section 3: That the proposition voted on in said Special Election
was whether said described territory should be annexed to.the City of Lynwood;
and that the.whole number of votes cast on said proposition at-said Special :
Election on July 19th, 1924,.was Three (3); and that the number of votes cast
at such election in favor of said proposition was Three(3), and that there
were no votes cast against the same. And whereas it appears from the canvass
of the returns of.the I said election.so held in said territory on said propo-
sition are in favor.of said annexation. It is further ordained that the an-
nexation of the said territory to the City of Lynwood is hereby approved;
and,the said territory is hereby declared to be annexed to, incorporated in
and,.made, a part of,_,the_ City of Lynwood.
And it is hereby ordered that a certified copy. of this`Ord'inance,
giving the date of its passage; under the seal of -the City of Lynwood, be
submitted to and filed with the Secretary of State of.the State of California.
From and after the date' of.which; filing the'annexation of such territory shall
be deemed. to be complete, and thenceforth the said annexed territory shall be

toall intents and purposes a part of the City of Lynwood.,.
