AN ORDINANCE MAKING CERTAIN REGULATION
CONCERNING PETITIONS AND PROTESTS TO THE
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF'LYN71OOD
AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION
OF SAID ORDINANCE.

-. The Board of Trustees of the City of Lynwood does ordain
as follows, to -wit:
. Section 1. Whenever any petition or protest to the Board
of Trustees of the City of Lynwood, containing more than one
signature, is presented to the Clerk of said City for filing
and presentation to said Roard, the said Clerk shall not file
the same unless there is attaeled to the same a written
affidavit or oath, executed before said Clerk or other person
authorized to administer oaths stating that the circulator of
said petition or protests saw written each of such signatures,
and that each of the signatures appended thereto, is the
genuine signature of the person whose signature it purports
to be. Without such affidavit or oath, the Clerk shall not
file such petition.or present the same to the Board of Trustees.
Section 2. Any false statement made in such affidavit or
oath shall be deemed a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not

lens than - one hundred ($100:00) or more than three '°
hundred (300.00) dollars, or by imprisonment in the City jail
of the City of Lynwood or the County jail of the County of Los
Angeles, for a term'of not less than ten (10) or more than
ninety (90) days, or by both, such fine and imprisonment. A
judgment imposing a fine . may provide for its collection by im-
prisonment in either of said ,jails in the proportion of one
day for each two dollars of the fine until such fine be wholly
satisfied.
Section 3. It is not intended by the provisions of this
Ordinance to diminish, effect or curtail any provision of any
law or statute which provides for any affidavit with special
statements or requirements, but shall be considered as providing
for additional and supplemental matters,
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty days
after final passage.
Section 5. The Clerk of the City of L Is_directed
to cause this Ordinance, after its final passage, to be published
one time in the Lynwood Tribune, which newspaper is hereby
designated for that purpose.
The above Ordinance, after its introduction in the Board of
Trustees of the City of Lynwood, was read three times and was
finally adopted by said Board at a regular meeting thereof held
on September 7th, 1926, by the following voter
