AN ORDINACE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD CALLING AID PROVIDING
FOR THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD ON THE 22ND DAY OF OCTOBER, 1927, AND
,SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF SAID CITY A PROP -
OSITION FOR THE INCURRING OF BONDED INDEBTEDNESS FOR THE
ACQUISITION CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF A CERTAIN
MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMSNT, TO -WIT: THE CONSTRUCTION OF A
CITY HALL. BUILDING.
WHEREAS The Board of Trustees (Council) of the City of
.Lynwood, did at a regular meeting held on the 27th day of Septem-
ber, by vote of more than two - thirds (E /Srds) of its members, duly
pass and adopt a Resolutioa entitled "A Resolution of the Board of
Trustees (now known as the GO&aoil) of the City of Lynwood deter-
mining and declaring that the public interest and necessity demand
the completion by said City of a certain municipal improvement, to-
wit: The construction of a city hall building for the purpose of
housing the necessary city offices and fire fighting equipment,"
which resolution was number Resolution No. 296; and
WHEREAS, said resolution-was on said 27th day of Septem-
ber, 1927 0 duly signed and approved by the President of the Board
of Trustees (Mayor) of said city, and attested and certified tp
by the City Clerk of said City;
NOW THEREFORE the Board of Trustees and City Council
of the City of Lynwood 10 ordain as follows:
Section It That a special election be held and the
same im hereby called to be held in the City of Lynwood on the
22nd day of October, 1927 for the purpose of submitting to the
qualified voters of said oity the proposition of incurring in-
debtedness and issuing bonds of said City therefor in the amount
hereinafter set forth and for the objects and purposes set forth
in said resolution and and hereinafter stated.
Section 2. That the objects and purposes for which
the said indebtedness is proposed to be incurred and bonds issued
therefor are as follows: The acquisition, construction and com-
pletion by the City of Lynwoo& of a certain municipal improvement,
to wit: The construction of a city hall building for the purpose
of housing offices of the various city officials and employees,
and fire fighting equipment and personnel.
Section 3. That the estimated cost of the proposed
municipal improvement described in section 2 hereof is FIFTY
THOUW DOLLARS ($50 0 000); that the amount of the principal in-
debtedness to be incurred therefor is the sum of FIFTY THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($60,000); and that the rate of interest to be paid on
said indebtedness shall be five percent (5%) per annum, payable
semi. - annually; that if the proposition for the incurring of said
indebtedness for said purpose so submitted receives the requisit
number of votes, to -wit: Two- thirds (2 /:rds) of the vote of the
qualified voters voting at said election, bonds of said City in
not exceeding the principal amount of FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS
($50,000) shall be issuot,And sold for the object and purpose set
forth in said Section 2 hereof.
Section 4. The the polls for said election shall be
opened at six (6) o'oloek A.M. of the day of said election and
must be and remain open oontinuoasly from said time until seven
(7) ofeloe'k p.m. of the same day, When the polls shall be glossed,
except and provided however, that if at the said hour of closing
there may be any voters in the polling places or in line at the
entrances thereof who are qualified to vote and who have not be .'
able to do so, the polls shall be Dept open a suMoJA- mt time to
enable them to vote but no one shall arrive at the Polling places
after seven (7) o P.M. 09 said day, shall be entitle 0
vote although the polls may be open when Xnak person shall arrive.
The ballots to be used at said election, except as other-
wise herein provided for shall be prepared,, printed furnished and
distributed as provided by law for preparing printing,,farnishing
and distributing ballots at a municipal election in the City of
Lynwood. Said ballots shall be printed in substantially the
following form:

If YOU Wrongly stamp, tear or defaot this ballot, return it to
the inspector and obtain "other.

Section 5, That for the purpose Of holding said
election, there is hereby created one consolidated election
Precinct to be designated as "Consolidated Voting Prooinot Am
and comprising and consisting of all the territory within the
exterior boundaries of the City Of Lynwood. That the City
Hall located at Plaza and Mulford Avon-me in said City of Lynwood
is hereby fixed and established as the Polling place for said
Consolidated Precinat An,, That the following -named persons are
hereby designated and appointed officers Of election for said
alootion as follows:
Inspector
Judge
Clerks
And
Section 6, That in all p . artio not recited in
this ordinance said election shall be hold as provided by law
for the holding o f municipal elections in said City of Lynwood.
Section 7. The Board of Trustees and City Co
Of said CitY shall meet and canvass the returns Of said elao-
tiOn at the ragalar meeting Of said Board of Trustees and City
QOuncil to be hold in the Council Chamber of the city Hall of
said City Of Lynwood on the first Monday after said election to-wit:
On the 24th day of October, 1927 at the hour of P.M
of said day, • .
Section 8. That the City Clerk shall Certify to the
passage of this ordinance by a vote of at least two-thirds (E/3rds)
of all the members of the Board of Trustees and City Council of
the City of .Lynwood and to its approval by the Mayor and President
of the City CowA.eil and Board of Trustees of said City, and shall
cause this ordinance to be published anOe a week for two suocseed-
ing weeks in the Lynwood Tribune, a weekly newspaper of general
circulation, printed and published and circulated in said City
of Lynwood, which newspaper is hereby designated for that pur•
pose, and such publication of this ordinance shall constitute
the notice of said election and no other notice thereof than
the aforesaid publication shall be deemed necessary. ,

Section 9. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
