a :`e,ctl Two. Every person, firm or corporation keeping,
maintaining or being in charge of any public or private market,
shop, store, bakery, cgndy factory, storehouse, warehouse, cold
stor`if e ;plant, cart wagon or other vehicle in., on or about
ahi ch any meat, fish, oysters, fowls, vegetables, fruit, bread,
candies, cakes or other foodstuffs or provisions are kept, held
or stored, or offered for sale or other disposition for human
consumption, shall keep such public or Private market, shop,store,

cart or ether vesicle in a clean, pure and wholesome condi-

Section Five. It she 'Ce unlawful for any person, firm
or corporation to sell, offer, expose or keep for sale any citrus
fruits, i_n boxes or otter containers, or in bulk, if the contents
of any package or of fruit in bulk contain .15%, or more of Citrus
fruit which, on transverse section through the Center, shows a
marked crying in 20% or more of t'e exposed pulp.
Section Six. It shall be unlawful for any rerson, firm
or corporation to sell, offer for sale, give away or otherwise
dispose of any vegetables, fruits or other food intended for
human or animal consumption which have been exposed to or sprayed
or treated with any poisonous substance from which such poisonous
substance has not been removed.

ection Li ht. It s:-,all be unlawful for any person, firm
or corporation to hold, offer, keep, expose for sale, or sell, any
meat or flesh of aiiy cattle, sheep, hogs, fowls or other animals,
or any article of food iriwiufac cured therefrom, which may be emac-
.iated, tair_ted, decayed, putrid, unwholesome or infected with any
disease or corrupted from any cause whatsoever.
Section Nine. No person or corporation shall sell or
offer for sale or otherwise dispose of, for hu ~an coy - )sumption
in the City of Lynwood any carcasses or parts of carcasses un-
less the same shall be identified by an "Inspected and Passed,"
or its equivalent. stamp or mark of the County of Los Angeles,
( of the United States, State of California, or a City,
County or City and County of California, maintaining a regular
meat ir_srection service. Any meat or meat products found. to
be unfit for human food or any carcasses or parts of carcasses
s, or offered for sale contrary to the provisions hereof,
shall be subject to confiscation by the inspector or t } treat-
ment wt shall satisfy hirr, that the article car-not be used

Section Ten. Tt shall be unlawful for any person, firm
or corporation to sell or to offer, or expose for sale, or to

, ants, he may take from any person, firm or corporation samples of

Section Twelve. It shall be unlawful in anv place where
food or drink is prepared, cooked, mixed, baked, exposed, bottled,
hacked, i stored, manufactueed, offered for sale, or sold,
(a) to dry sweer;
(b) to sfiore anv ner; " food product in an unsealed
metal car or to reelect to .r.emo -e all r- ri.shable food from a

(c) - to -aint tin a y i-ce, box, refrigerator or other cooler
in an insanitary condition.

tables anywhere or in ariy thing except a water - tight metal nor -
tai ner covered with a tibrit fitting lido The presence of and
spoiled or unwholesome food in other place except such container
shall be deemed prima facie evidence of its being kept for sale
as humai food.
(e) to place or store on floor in boxes, packages, sacks,
or other containers, or i_n bulk, flour, sugar, beans, rice or
dried fruits.
(f) to sleep or keep bed or bedding, or the process of
barbering, shoe repairing, or operations of like nature;
() for tobacco to be used either for chewing or smoking,
or the use of snuff, by any person while preparing or dispensing
such food.
Section Thirteen. It shall be unlawful for any person,
firm or corporation to serve any food or drink to any person at
any drug store, grocery, confectionary, restaurant, lunch counter,
fountain, roadside stand or other - "sce in the City of Lynwood in
any dish, glass or other receptacle or with knife, fork or spoon

ecti.on Fourteen. No carcass or -peat of anv rind, or
fish, or dressed fowl, or Sarre, or a-y cooked or 'caked product,
or any chleese, outter, lard, or a:,y cooked food, or any cut,
preserved, or dried fruit or vegetables, or vegetables eaten
raw shall be wrapped in any printed paper, unless such paper
is heavily parafinned or waxed. No operator, employee or other
person small expectorate on the utensils, apparatus or on the
floor or side walls of any building, room or basement, where
the production, preparation, manufacture, packing, storing or
sale of any food or drink products are conducted. Operators,
employees, clerks and all persons engaged in ti-e making, pre -
paration or sale of any food or drink product shall wash their hands
thoroughly in clean water before beginning work, and after visiting
the toilet.
Section Fifteen. All machinery, apparatus, and pipes used
in the process of manufacturing food shall be so constructed and
equ_ip�;ed as to prevent oil, waste, dust, dirt, or other foreign
matter from entering or contaminating any food, food ingredients
, or food products. Every operator, employee, or other person
ergaged in the production, preparation, manufacture, packing,
storing or sale of any food or drink products shall wear washable
outer blcthing anti cap and siich outer clothing and cap shall be
in a cleanly condition at all times.

Section Tuenty. Any erson or corporation who or which
requires or occasions the performance of work or service covered
by the 7_ ovisions of this ordinance shall file with the Health Of-
ficer the co, name and address of such establishment, either
as owner, J or r�.anager, together . - rith a request for a
permit therefor. If, upon investigation, the 1�roposed location be
you} d to be suitable for such purpose and in _roper sanitary con-
dition according to the ordinances of the City of Lynwood and the
rule;, and regulations �jf the United Sta tes and the State of California

- -pith reference to plumbing, watex supply, ventilation and cleanliness
th3 Health Office shall issue to such applicant a yermit for such es-
tablishment. "ithout such permit it shall be unlawful for any per-
son, lirm or corporation to open or maintain any establishment in
which :food is handled or served in the manner described in this or-
oinance.
Section Twenty -one. Any person, firm or corporation who
or which shall violate any of the Lrovisions of this ordinance shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall
be punishable by a fine of not more than five Hundred Dollars (:'500.00)
or by imprisonment for not more than six (6) months or by both such
fine and imprisonment.
Section Twenty -Two. All or parts of crdinances in conflict
here : i th are hereby revealed.
Action Twenty- Three. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance and cause the same to be published once in
the (Ofticial taper).
