AN ORDINANCE OF `THE CITY OF LYNWUOD REGULATING THE
ERECTION, CONSTRUCTION, ENLARG ENT, ALTERATION,
REPAIR. MOVING, RMIOVAL, DEKOLITION, CONVERSION
OCCUPANCY, EQUIMMNT, USE,HEIGHT, AREkAND MINT -
_,- ENANCE.OF ALL_BUILDING AND OR STRUCTURES IN THE
CITY OF LYNL °IOOD:'ROVIDING FOR' THE ISSUANCE OF PERK
M ITS AND COLLECTION OF FEES THEREOF: PROVIDING PE11-
ALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF: DECLARING AND
ESTABLISHING FIRE ZONES: REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 130
OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES
AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH.
The City Council of the City of Lynwood do- ordain
as- follows:
SECTION ONE: That a certain document, three(3) copies
of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City
of Lynwood, being marked and designated as "Uniform Building Code,,
1930 Edition, published 1 1930, by Pacific Coast Building
Officials Conference" bdn fie same is hereby,adopted as the build-
ing code of the City.of Lynwood for regulating the erection, cons -
truction, enlargement, alteration, repair, moving, removal, dem-
olition, conversation, occupancy, equipment, use, height, area and
---- maintenance- of all- buildings and or.structures in the City of
Lyn ood; Providing for issuance of permits ana collection of fees ;- -
the lor: providing penalties for violation of such code; declaring
- and fire.zones; and each and all of the regulations,
provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of such "Uniform Build-
ing Code, 1930 Edition, published May 1930, by Pacific Coast
Building Officials Conference," on file in the office of the City
Clerk are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof as
cif fully set out in this Ordinance provided however, that section
• 1602 subdivision A of said Uni:Borm Building Code shall read as "'follows;
Sec. 1602 OA) ; No building or structure of Type V construction
shall be eredted or constructed in or moved into Fire Zone No. 1;
except in that portion of Fire District No. 1, 100 feet back from
the property line on each sidelof Long Beach Blvd. extending from
the Southerly City limits as -they now exist, to the Pacific Electric
Right of Play: and from the L8s Flores St. to the Northerly city
Limits, Buildings of Type V construction may be constructed for
Group 1 occupancy only.
Buildings of Tpye V, Group I occupancy constructed in that
part of Fire Zone No. 1, meLitioned above shall be set back 30,feet
`from= the- Pro perty- Line on Long Beach Blvd.
SECTION TWO: That, Ordinance No. 7, of the City of Lynwood
entitled "An Ordinance Regulating Building, Plumbing, Electric wiring
and the Construction of Gas Plumbing and Gas Pipes in the City of
Lynwood, and Fixing a Penalty for the Violation Thereof, Adopted
October 9th, 1921". 'and all other Ordinances or parts of Ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

SECTION THREE; That, the entire incorporated area of the
City of Lynwood is hereby declared to be and is hereby established
as a Fire District and said fire district shall be known and designat-
ed as Fire Zones 1, 2, 3 and each such zone shall include such ter-
ritory or portions of said City as illustrated, outlined and des-
ignated on a certain map on file in the office of the City Clerk of
the City of Lynwood being marked and designated as " "Fire Zones of the
City of Lynwood," which is herebSr adopted as the fire zoning map of
the City of Lynwood for the application of the regulations included
in.the "Uniform Building Code "_, 1930_Edition, published May 1930,
by Pacific Coast Building Officials Conference. ".
SECTION FOUR: That, the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance and cause the same to be published, by
one insertion in the Lynwood Tribune, a legal newspaper of general
circulation.
