AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYN'NOOD; "CALIFORNIA,
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 73 OF SAID CITY LICENSING
VARIOUS BUSINESSES IN SAID CITY
The City Council of the City of Lynwood do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 73 of the City of
Lynwood`be amended by adding thereto a new section to be known
as Section 13 —a and to read as follows:
SECTION 13 —a. Every person who carries on,
practices or professes to practice or carry on the
business or art of astrology, palmistry, phrenology,
card reading, fortune telling, cartomancy, clairvoyance,
clairaudience, crystal gazing, hypnotism, mediumship,
prophecy, augury, divination, magic or necromancy, and
who demands, solicits or receives a fee or remuneration
for the practice, exercise or exhibition of any such
business or art or who gives an exhibition or demonstration
thereof at any place where an admission fee is charged or
solicited, shall pay a license fee of Two Hundred Dollars
($200.00) per year, payable quarterly in advance in
installments of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) each. Every
person applying for a license under this section shall be
entitled to credit toward the payment of the same of the
unexpired portion of any license for which such person
may have paid pursuant to any other sections of this
ordi nance.
SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take effect
thirty days after its publication.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be
published bnce in the Lynwood Tribune, a weekly newspaper of
general circulation printed, published and circulated within
the said City of Lynwood, and which is hereby designated
for that purpose:

ordinance was duly passed and adopted by the City Council of
said City at a regular meeting of said City Council,
held on the day of April, 1931, and that the same was
adopted by the following vote:
