Hess ORDINANCE NO. 191 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD REGULATING GAB APPLIANCES -_000 -- The City Council of the City of Lynwood do ordain as follows: SECTION 1 - It shall be unlawful after the date this ordinance becomes effective, to install in any structure in the City of Lynwood, any gas appliance of the. character hereinafter referred to, unless a permit to install the same has been obtained from the Building Inspector of said City prior to the installation thereof.' SECTION'2 -- It shall be.unlawful after the data this Ordinance becomes effective, to use any gas appliance installed after the date,this Ordinance,becomes effective,, unless a permit for the installation thereof has been issued prior to the installation thereof, by said Building Inspecttor. SECTION 3- I't .shall be unlawful for any person to .sell any gas appliance in the City of Lynwood, after this Ordinance becomes effective, unless such gas appliance conforms to the requirements herein set forth. SECTION 4- The term "gas appliance", as lierein used, _shall include central heating appliances, gas cooking ranges, gas-.fired. water .heaters, gas space heaters, domestic gas furnaces of all kinds, and including floor heaters and what are.commonly known.as unit heaters, and also gas radiators, gas steam radiators, and. gas wall heaters. SECTION. 6- A "space heater" as herein used, shall be defined as a self- contained gas burning appliance installed in and for heating rooms. SECTION 7- A "unit heater" as, herein used shall be P_8 ned /a b�elf- contained gas burning appliance of the fan type, designed for the delivery of warm air directly.into the space .into which the appliance is located. SECTION 8- All gas cooking ranges shall conform to the requirements as to Flue Gas Analysis set forth in Section '.9 on page 12'of the publication entitled "A.G.A. Approval Requirements for Gas Ranges, Effective February 1,1930 published on Awenist 1; 1929 by the American Gas Association,Inc., of 420 Lexington Avenue, New York City. SECTION 9 - All gas -fired water heaters shall conform to the requirements as to Burner operation set forth in Section 4 on pages 5 and 6 of the publication entitled "A.G.A. Approval Requirements for Gas Water Heatere,Effeetive September 1 1931 published.by American Gas Association Inc., of 420 Lexington Avenue, New York City, on September 1, 1930. SECTIO 10-. Space heaters shall conform to'the• requirements ag to burner operation.set forth.in Section 5 on pages 7 and 8 of the publication entitled "A.G.A. Approval Requirements for space heaters, Effective December 1,.1931" published by said American Gas Association Inc., on December 1; 1931. SECTION 11- -Gas boilers, radiators and gas steam radiators shall conform to the requirements as to burner, operation set forth in Section 4 on,page ll.of the publication entitled "A.G.A.. Approval requirements for central heating gas appliance, Effective September 1, 1931 ", published by said American Gas Association Inc. on September 1, 1930. 2 . 2. 3 4' 5 . 6 7 8 9 10 1 11 i 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 SECTION 12 - Gas warm air furnaces shall con- form.to the requirements as to operation set forth in Section 4 on page 21 of the publication last above referred to. SECTION 13 - Unit'heaters shall, conform to the requirements as to burner.operation set forth in Section 4 on page 31 of the publication last above referred to. SECTION 14 - Said Building Inspector shall issue a permit for the installation of such gas appliances in the City of Lynwood, only in the event that the same conform to the .requirements above set forth, and upon application for the installation of the same in writing executed by the owner or occupant of the property upon which said gas appliance is proposed .to be installed, or by the agent thereof, which application shall be.on the form furnished by said Building Inspector. SECTION 15- Any violation of this Ordinance shall be a misdemeanor and shall be punishable by a fine of not to exceed $300.00 or by imprisonment in the City.or.County Jail for a period not to exceed three months, or by.both. such fine and imprisonment. '20 SECTION 16- The City Clerk shall certify to 21 the adoption of this Resolution and cause the same to be published 22 once after its final passage in the LYNWOOD•TRIBUNE, a weekly 23 newspaper published and. circulated in said City, which is hereby 24 designated for such purpose. 25 P 'PASSED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of February 1932' 26 '.
