AN ORDINANCE OF 'TF?E_CITY OF LYNWOOD DELCARING AN
EMERGENCY EXISTS, AND PROHIBITING PROFITEERING.

'The o£.the City of Lynwood do ordain as follows:
That beoause`of the recent earth quake an emergency exists in
the City of Lynwood.
�... -_ _.. What it i.s necessary for the proper protection of the inhabitants
of the City of Lynwood, that profiteering in food stuffs-and shelter be pro-
hibited.
Therefore, the City Council of the City of .- ynwood prohibits the
sale or offer for sale within said City of all food stuffs and all shelter
at prices over and above the regular trade price for articles of like char-
acter and quality.
Each violation of this " rdinance is declared a seperate misdeam-
eanor and upon conviction of any person, firm or corporation of a violation
hereof said person, firm or corporation shall be punished by a fine not ex-
ceeding $300.00 or by imprisonment not exceeding 90 days or by both such
fine and imprisonment.
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its pas-
sage.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance
and to cause the same to be published once in the Lynwood Tribune, which
newspaper is hereby designated for that purpose.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of March, 1933.

Lynwood, California, do hereby certify that the above
and foregoing Ordinance was duly adopted by the City
Council of said City at a Special V-e� meeting
thereof held in the City Hall of said City, on the
13th day of March _, 193 3 , and passed by the
following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Sn yder, Wright, Dae twei ler ,
Childs and Davies.
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None.
