PROHIBITIT_:G THE SOLICITI ?;G OF TORT CLAIMS
OR CHOSES II: ACTION, AK7 PROVIDING PENALTY
FOR THE VIOLATIOF THEREOF.
The City 1 7our.cil of the City of Lynwood does ordain
as follows:
SECTIOIF 1. The word "person" as used herein shall
include any corporation, associations, society, club,
eopartnershir or individual.
SECTION 2. It shall be unlawful for any person to
solicit employment for himself or for any other person,
either directly or through some other person acting on
his behalf to prosecute, collect, settle, compromise, or
to negotiate for the settlement, compromise or collection
of any tort claim, on behalf of any tort claimant, in
which he himself has no pecuniary interest arising from
such tort.
SECTION J. The provisions of this ordinance shall not
be construed to prevent joint tort claimants from negoti-
ating with each other for the purpose of combining res-
pective claims or actions against the tort feasor.
SECTION 4. Any person violating any of the provisions
of this ordinance shall be ; guilty of a misdemeanor, and
upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of
not more than Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) or by impri-
sonment in the City or County Jail for a period of not
more than ninety (90) days, or by both such fine and
imprisonment.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk is hereby directed to
certify to the adoption of this ordinance and to cause the
same after its final passage and approval, to be published
once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circula-
tion, published and circulated in the said City of Lynwood.
