Classes., Workshops, Events: Library staff continues to focus on what we can do during this time, not on what we can't do. Online Story Times, book clubs, and Tech Tuesdays continue. 60 children participate in the online -only version of Summer Reading Program. If the situation is safe later in the summer, we will have small group programs to assist children and families with reading. 2. Staff: At this time, the library continues to be open with limited entry. Customers are required to wear masks. Curbside service also continues at the same time. Staff is back to regular working schedule, with a few adjustments. Public is grateful for the service. We are happy to announce our new employee, Bre Anderson. Bre joins us as Children's librarian with extensive experience in Valley County with children's educational programming and we wish her a warm welcome. 3. Grants: McCall Donnelly Education Foundation awarded the library with $2500 to support the purchse of a "Book Bike" to use in outdoor programming, as outlined in Girl Scout Mia Rider's application. The department received CARES Act funding from Idaho Commision for Libraries to support library technology outreach, and $4885 from Idaho Humanities Council to support programs. 4. Other: The Library Board is looking forward to possible approval of David Gallipoli as new member, and looking forward to a work session with City Council on July 23rd Here are the current library adjustments during Idaho Reopens (no changes since last month): • Curbside service available M-F 10 to 6, and Saturdays 10-2 (regular library business hours) Monthly Department Report — Library " Free WiFi in parking lot surrounding building, 24/7, no library card required if they use McCallWiFi " Stand up computer kiosk in front entranceway during business hours " No late fines assessed during this time " Memberships that come due during this time: if customers are not comfortable entering the library, they may call us at 208-634-5522 and staff will renew via phone. People can pay any associated fees online by logging into their library account, or they can call us to get the fee temporarily waived so that access is not interrupted. Staff are now catching up with patrons who have outstanding balances. " Staff can set up new users with a new library account via phone. " Staff are investing more than usual in OverDrive e-books and e-audiobooks that can be accessed on Libby app for free with library card, and there have been hundreds of new titles added. " Summer Reading Program  our biggest community wide literacy events  is going to be supported with new READsquared software program. " Dial -a -Librarian is up: People should not hesitate to call if they have questions or want a professional to kindly guide them through renewing an account, setting up Libby app on their phones, or accessing the Lili.org database for quality information during uncertain times. " Library staff are also able to help guide people to other helpful resources in our community, through the County's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Community Cares site. " Coming soon: Gabby, the text -a -librarian option. " Tumblebooks, a free interactive reading site, is free until August. Link is on our website, offered in several languages.
