City of McCall
ADMINISTRATION/ENGINEERING:
1. Development Engineering Reviews:
Review coordination of land use applications with the City Planner, and engineering review of construction
plans including Broken Ridge, Agate Street Water Line, Flynn Estates, and numerous Record of Survey's
and projects for residential parcels, including several potential development inquiries.
2. Downtown Core Reconstruction:
Phase 1B: Sunroc completed tree planter broken Silva cell repairs, finished paver installations on Lenora
and 2nd Streets, completed tree installations, and began installing bollards. Substantial and final completion
milestones anticipated in early and mid -July.
Phase 2B: Granite Excavation completed stormwater, roadway section, curb and gutter, and partial
sidewalk construction on Park Street (between 2nd and 3rd Streets). Work also began west of 2nd Street (on
Park St.) to remove obstacles (trees, topsoil, etc.), address soft spot repairs in preparation for road, and
sidewalk construction in July.
Franchise Utility Undergrounding (Park St. and Veteran's Alley): Work continues on converting overhead
utilities to underground. Overhead lines on Park Street will be removed by July 3.
CDBG Light Installations Phase 1: All streetlights are installed. Energizing these lights will occur in late
June/early July pending utility work ongoing in Veteran's Alley and State electrical inspector approval.
CDBG Light Installations Phase 2: Streetlight installation will occur in late summer in coordination with
the Downtown Core - Phase 2B construction.
3. PW Facility Master Plan:
Horrocks Engineers has finalized the report and is uploaded to the City's website.
4. SH-55/Deinhard-Boydstun Lane Corridor Study:
Public Works Director met with Horrocks and Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) to review the draft
report. The City will be providing review comments by the end of July.

5. Jasper Subdivision Water and Drainage Improvements - Phase 2:
Residents have been contacted by the contractor and construction management team. Construction is
scheduled to begin following the 4th of July.
6. Davis and University Water Main Upgrades:
Final design completed, and bidding occurred in June. Recommendation for contract award will be
presented to City Council on July 23.
7. Park/Thompson Street Overhead Utility Conversion:
Idaho Power has been completing conversion construction activities in June. Earthwork and tree removal
at Park/4th Streets intersection were completed to facilitate overhead utility coversion.
8. Mission Street Reconstruction Project:
Forsgren Associates is proceeding with planning and design. The project charter has been completed.
9. Banners over the Highway:
Throughout the month of June "Protect Our Mountain Playground" has been up. Beginning June 29 thru
July 6, the "Airport Open House" banner will be displayed. Two events in July are cancelled.
STREETS:
1. Crack Sealing: Crack seal project has been completed until again in the fall season. This included three
sub -divisions and a portion of Spring Mountain Blvd.
2. Emergency Call Outs: Two emergency call outs for tree removal.
3. Sweeping: Sweeping has been completed for the maintenance projects and will continue as time allows.
4. Parking Lot Seal Coat: Has been completed by the contractor.
5. Painting Project: Contractor and Streets staff have completed mainline striping, Highway symbols,
and parking lots. City staff will continue painting crosswalks, stop bars and symbols into the month of
July.
6. Dust Abatement Project: City dust abatement project started Monday, June 29, and will continue into
the month of July.
7. Road Shoulder Mowing: Staff has started mowing the shoulders of the roadway and will continue into
the month of July.
WATER:
1. General:
a. COVID-19: Water crews are working at full staff. Staff has increased office cleaning and practice
social distancing. Appropriate personal protective equipment is available and in use at work.
b. Consumer Confidence Report: 2019 annual water quality report is complete and posted on the

2. Distribution:
a. New Water Service: Set meters and turned water on for 14 new residential customers.
b. Emergency Calls: 1 Meter Turn Off/On
c. Normal Call Outs: 13 requests to turn water on/off, 2 possible leaks, checked 3 residents for high
usage requests from Utility Billing, 2 Customer Repairs.

d. Digline Requests: Responded to 50 dig line locates, 2 emergency locates.
e. ARV/PRV/Routine Inspections/Vaive Repairs: 24 Inspections, 24 miscellaneous activities
f Meter/MXU/ECR Replacements/Repairs: 17
g. Water Service Line/Meter Pit Repair/Replacement: 13
3. Treatment:
a. Legacy Pump Station: Land use applications (CUP, DR, SR) have been submitted for the
necessary project entitlements. Design work will be complete by early July. The project will begin
advertising for bids in July with the bid opening scheduled for August 6. Construction is planned
for the early fall and will continue in Spring/Summer 2021.
b. Water Main Break: Around 11:30 p.m. on June 24, the 16-inch water main to Heaven's Gate Tank
ruptured and collapsed just outside the plant. Water service was lost to the upper zone of Aspen
Ridge Subdivision. Service was restored to most the residences by early afternoon and to all
residents by 10:30 p.m. later that evening. Granite Excavation assisted with the repair.
c. SCADA Maintenance: Control Engineers fixed remote access problems and additional routine
SCADA maintenance.
