HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd. 0321ORDINANCE NO. 321 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, WAIVING CERTAIN DELINQUENT PENALTIES FOR THE NON- PAYMENT OF LIGHTING AS- SESSMENTS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. 0- 0 -0 -0 -0 The City Council of the City of Lynwood does ordain as follows: SECTION 1: That all unpaid delinquency penalties and costs for the non - payment of lighting assessments, levied in the . Special Light and Maintenance Districts in said City since 1926, excepting the 1936, 1937, 1938, 1939 and 1940 Special Light Main- tenance Aseesements, be, and the same are hereby waived, subject to the provisions of the following Section: SECTION 2: The above waiver shall be applicable only to such lighting assessments, the principal sum of which shall be paid prior to April 20th, 1941, together with interest thereon at the rate of 7% per'annum from July 1st, 1939. SECTION 3: Whereas an emergency exists because of the limi- tations of time and for the relief of tax payers, the benefits of this ordinance are urgently demanded because of the present econo- mic condition. The City Council does therefore, hereby declare that an emergency exists and that this ordinance shall be fn full force and effect upon the first publication hereof. SECTION 4: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and cause the same to be published once In the Lynwood Press, and the same shall become effective.
